Everyday we start Math with our Calendar time and then we listen to our "Math Songs". This is a fun way to learn to count by twos, fives, tens..etc. As well as other math skills. Below is a picture from one of our songs. Can you tell they like it? I feel that learning with movement and song is very beneficial for some if not all students.
Each day a different student facilitates the Calendar part of our day. We discuss many parts of math during this time without them even knowing it ;).
Math Stations
We are learning so much by exploring math through stations!!!
Station #1- War- Greatest or Least?
- Students play the card game "War" and the person who has the greatest number gets to keep the cards. The person at the end who has the most cards, wins!
- Students bundle groups of 10 fruit loops by color to make a necklace.
Yay! Math looks more fun than I remember!
